The POL will be holding a 10 mile paddle from Dismal Swamp Canal Park north to Deep Creek Locks Park on April 18, 2009 @ 0900 to raise money for Operation Smile. Anyone with Sponsorship Info please post it here so we may get an idea o' support. The participation fee be $10.00 per paddler and ye will be given a pledge form to raise further donations. Pledges must be collected and turned in by May 2nd, so we may submit our check to Op Smile on May 9th. Ye may pay with Check or Money Order made out to Pirates o' Lynnhaven or Operation Smile, once yer payment be received ye will get a paddlers package sent to yer address. Package will include yer Pledge Form & Wristband and will have matching #'s (Wristband must be worn during paddle) and Prize Ticket. Participants will also receive an Event T-Shirt along with Food & Beverage at landing site. |

I am going to try and do a 20 mile paddle for this event. Start at the finish, paddle 10 miles to the start and then 10 back to the finish. If anyone else be up for this I wouldn't mind the company. |

Keep in mind I'm using a 17ft. sea plastic vessel for this, a lot more efficient than me Tarpon 140. 20 miles in a sit on top be a whole different story. |
