This year we are having our first annual Paddling Miles for Smiles event. The event will take place on May 1, 2010
0900-1800...(9:00 AM - 6:00 PM)

Chesapeake Yachts Inc
1700 Shipyard Road, Chesapeake, VA 23323
Launching will begin @ 0900..(9:00AM)

This year the paddle will be a 10 mile paddle along the beautiful ICW from Chesapeake Yachts, 5 miles to Great Bridge Locks and back. There be a park at the GBL that has restrooms & an area that ye may use to take a break.

The pledge sheet for this event be located here: http://piratesoflynnhaven.org/M4S/M4Spledge-1.pdf

In association with this event, we will be having an online auction to begin March 1 and end April 30 @ 8:00pm. A list o' auction items will be placed here with bidding taking place for each individual item in the Pirate Auction Forum.

This year we also have an E-Giving website set up to make the donation process easier. You can direct people to http://support.operationsmile.org/goto/polm4s to make their donations. If yer donors would prefer to submit a check, money order or cash, they can do that as well and we will collect these funds at the event on May 1.

Last year we raised over $4000 for Operation Smile. This year let work together to make a 5 figure donation to their organization.

Maybe one o' them fat cells in me brain just ruptured and released the pent up chemical compounds from little tabs ingested at WAY too many Dead shows in me earlier years but I could have sworn I did a paddle last year that was the "First Annual POL Miles for Smiles" event. Was this one hell o' a hallucination that I had and didn't realize?

Thanks for posting this. I have some pledges that have already been given to me, do I bring these on May 1 to hand in or what?
